Define the House Repipe and Water Main Separately
A repipe proposal should make clear where the new water system starts and ends. At your Livermore estimate, we review the supply line entering the house, the hot and cold distribution lines, the water heater connections, and the fixtures included in the work.
If you also want the underground line from the meter replaced, tell us during the visit. That work can involve a different route, excavation, or surface repairs and needs its own defined scope. We explain which existing lines will remain, which will be replaced, and how the new piping will connect.
What to Show Us at the Estimate
- The main shutoff and water heater location.
- Past leak repairs and areas with low flow.
- Crawl-space, attic, or garage access.
- Any planned water-main or water-heater changes.
Livermore Plumbing Permits and Inspection Planning
Livermore lists house and main-line water repipes within its plumbing permit category for residential and commercial work. We identify the appropriate application for your property and the work in your written proposal.
The installation schedule also allows for the required inspections. Included wall patching and texture follow rough inspection approval, and final inspection is coordinated as part of completion.

Two Material Options for Your Repipe
Copper and PEX-A are two material choices for the same repiping service. We compare them against the routes available in your Livermore home and explain the connections and wall repairs included in each option.
Option 1: Type L Copper
USA-made Type L copper for homeowners who prefer a rigid metal piping system. We assess installation access and explain where openings and connections will be needed.
Option 2: Uponor PEX-A
USA-made Uponor PEX-A AquaPEX for a flexible water distribution system. We review routing and connection requirements and explain the access needed for your property.
Repiping for Homes & Multi-Family Properties
We plan water supply repipes for Livermore homes, townhomes, condominiums, and multi-family properties. For a detached house, we review the complete fixture list. For a shared building, we also establish which lines and shutoffs serve individual units.
HOA & Multi-Family Properties
For a Livermore HOA or apartment project, the estimate begins with the building layout and ownership of the shared water lines. We coordinate unit access, water interruption notices, inspection stages, and phased work with the board or property manager. Scope and warranty terms are stated in the building’s proposal.
What to Expect From Your Repipe
1. Free Onsite Estimate
We review your property, material preferences, fixture connections, and access. Your written proposal defines the price, included work, and any exclusions.
2. Permits & Installation Planning
We coordinate the permit and inspection process for the agreed scope and discuss access and water interruptions before work starts. Multi-family projects require a plan for residents and building management.
3. Repipe & Inspection
Our in-house team completes APR direct installations. Many whole-home repipes can be installed in one day, but the schedule depends on property size, access, scope, and inspection availability. We plan around restoring water service daily.
4. Patching & Completion
Included drywall patching and texture take place after the rough inspection is approved. Painting is excluded unless it is specifically included in your proposal. Final inspection and any remaining scope items are coordinated before completion.
Livermore Repiping Questions
Does a whole-home repipe include the line from the meter?
The written scope determines that. Interior hot and cold water lines and the underground water service line are separate parts of the system. We identify both during the estimate so you can see exactly what is included.
Can I compare copper and PEX-A during the same visit?
Yes. Tell us which options you want to compare. We assess the same fixture connections and available routes, then explain how material selection affects the proposed installation and access work.
Will you reconnect my existing water heater?
We review the water heater connections as part of the repipe estimate. Replacing or relocating the heater is additional work only when specifically included in your proposal.
How is the inspection schedule handled?
We coordinate the required inspections for the agreed scope. Installation, rough inspection, included wall repairs, and final approval are separate stages, and timing depends on inspection availability.
