Start With the Property's Permit Jurisdiction
Being in Alameda County does not automatically put a property under the County Building Department. Its building permit portal serves unincorporated areas. We confirm the jurisdiction for your project address and coordinate the applicable permit process for the agreed repipe scope.
The County portal lists unincorporated communities including Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Ashland, Cherryland, Fairview, and Sunol. A mailing address alone is not the basis for our permit plan.

What We Confirm Before Scheduling
- Property address and permit jurisdiction.
- House, condo, or multi-family building layout.
- Included fixture connections and shared lines.
- Access, shutoff windows, and repair scope.
Two Material Options for Your Repipe
Repiping is one service with two material choices: Type L copper or Uponor PEX-A. We compare the available routes and fixture connections at your property, then explain the installation access and repairs included in each option.
Option 1: Type L Copper
USA-made Type L copper for homeowners who prefer a rigid metal piping system. We assess installation access and explain where openings and connections will be needed.
Option 2: Uponor PEX-A
USA-made Uponor PEX-A AquaPEX for a flexible water distribution system. We review routing and connection requirements and explain the access needed for your property.
Repiping for Homes & Multi-Family Properties
A whole-home repipe and a shared-building repipe need different coordination. For a house, we review the included kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, and water heater connections. For a condo or apartment building, we also identify common piping, individual branches, and access responsibilities.
HOA & Multi-Family Properties
Owners, HOA boards, and property managers receive a defined scope for shared lines, unit access, water interruptions, inspections, and repairs. We assess whether phased installation fits the system and occupancy. Building-specific warranty terms are stated in the proposal.
What Your Repipe Estimate Should Define
1. Piping, Fixtures & Access
The proposal identifies the new hot and cold water lines, included fixture connections, existing sections to be reconnected, and planned openings. Any water-main work or other additions need their own defined scope.
2. Installation & Inspections
We coordinate the permit and inspection process for the agreed work. Many whole-home repipes can be installed in one day, depending on the property and scope. Inspection and repair stages follow their own schedule, and we plan around restoring water service daily.
3. Repairs & Warranty
Included drywall patching and texture follow rough inspection approval. Painting is included only when stated in the proposal. Direct homeowner repipes carry a lifetime labor warranty; manufacturer warranties are separate, and HOA or multi-family terms are proposal-specific.
